Assistant manager Luke Williams hopes MK Dons can find a way to record an elusive away victory this week.
The Dons are without a win on the road since September but have two chances to put that right this week, albeit against tough opposition in in-form Portsmouth tonight and Sky Bet League One leaders Rotherham United this weekend.
“If we can go away from home, grapple the game and make it more like a home game we can pick up more points on the road,” Williams said in his pre-match press conference ahead of this evening’s match at Fratton Park.
“It's a mentality thing. There are a lot of factors that go against you away from home - you're not as comfortable in your surroundings, there is a bit more energy and belief from the opposition than when they come here. It's about trying to overcome those factors and settling into the performance as if we were at home.
“Our home form has given us the luxury of being able to go into these tough away fixtures without it being as crucial as it could have been. We still, though, need to put in good performances at both of these games.
“We know it will be tough but we're going there expecting good performances and we're going there to win.”

Tickets for tonight's clash with Portsmouth must be bought in advance of the game from MK Dons. Tickets are priced at £24 adults, £18 seniors, £16 young adults and £7 juniors.
Official Away travel is available for this fixture, with coach spaces priced at £19 Season Ticket holders/members and £20 all other supporters. Coaches will depart Stadium MK at 3pm.
