Boss hopeful on striking duo's status

Russell Martin is hopeful that both Rhys Healey and Carlton Morris will be okay despite them both limping out of Saturday’s win over Wycombe Wanderers.

Healey netted the opening goal for MK Dons – his eighth of the season - but was forced off shortly after. He was soon followed down the tunnel by strike partner Carlton Morris.

Both players will be assessed by the Club’s Sports Science and Medicine teams this week but Martin is hopeful that the duo will be able to recover in time to face Shrewsbury this weekend.

“Hopefully they're both precautionary,” Martin said in his post-match press conference.

“Rather than going on too long, they were all honest with us. We need to them to be because we don't want to lose them for a longer period.

“Hopefully they will be fine and they’ll just be ones that we have to monitor over the next few days and we'll have them ready for next week.”
