Russell Martin is looking forward to another extended period on the training pitch with his MK Dons side.
The Dons are without a fixture this Saturday which means they have over a week to prepare for the visit of Bolton Wanderers to Stadium MK on Saturday 22 February. Martin will be looking to make the most of that time on the training pitch.
“We've got a little break now and we know what we need to work on,” the boss said in his post-match press conference after Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Lincoln City.
“We love having some time to work on the process. There are some key things we know we need to get better at and the players know that as well.
“The boys have been excellent. We’re in a good place and it’s nice to know that we’re putting in performances like we are while still being a work in progress.”
Martin is also hopeful that the break will allow time for several of players to return to full fitness – Callum Brittain and Ben Gladwin both missed the trip to Lincoln along with the already sidelined Joe Mason while Carlton Morris limped off during the match.
“It's all stuff to monitor. Fortunately, there's a 10-day gap before the next game at home. Hopefully those knocks won't be too major and we can look forward to having everyone fit by the time the next game comes around.”
Russell Martin's MK Dons are back in Sky Bet League One action on Saturday 22 February, when they take on Bolton Wanderers at Stadium MK.
