Ste soaking up Dons experience

Stephen Walker is still just 20-years-old, and is using every second of his loan to develop himself as a player.

The Dons squad has the perfect mixture between young and old. The likes of Matthew Sorinola, David Kasumu and Walker are all in the early stages of their career. Sharing the dressing room with the youngsters are a number of players, who together, have racked up over 2,500 career appearances.

Dean Lewington, Andrew Surman, Richard Keogh and Cameron Jerome have all had incredible careers in football – and the quartet are individuals Walker is hoping to learn from.

“I want to be a sponge and get bits of information from everyone,” Walker told iFollow MK dons ahead of Saturday’s clash with Plymouth Argyle. “As a player, you can learn off everyone – if it helps me improve then it’s ideal.

“There are young players in this team, and if you're good enough you'll be there, it's only a matter of time. We've got a good balance between youth and experience.”

Walker has featured in 14 games for MK Dons this season and noted how much he’s enjoying his loan spell with the club. The 20-year-old spoke highly of his teammates and how as a striker – they are perfect for him to play alongside.

“I love working with the manager and his staff and being back with all the lads. I'm contributing where I can, I hope to contribute more as a player as and when I can and keep improving.

“We've got players like Scott Fraser, Surman, Lasse, David – all these creative players. You're definitely going to get chances as a striker in this team.”
