Lasse Sorensen had an enjoyable first experience in front of the MK Dons supporters on Tuesday.

Sorensen has been at Stadium MK since August but this week’s Papa John’s Trophy tie with Norwich City was the first opportunity the on-loan midfielder had to play in front of the home fans.

“It was a great evening,” he said in his post-match interview with iFollow MK Dons. “Six goals scored, we're through, and all in front of the fans too so it was an enjoyable evening.

“It was my first time with the fans. Going out for the warm-up, they were clapping us and I got goosebumps! Throughout the game when something happened, you could hear them and that's what we all want! Now they're here, we're all really happy for them to be back.”

Sorensen rewarded those supporters in attendance by scoring a terrific goal to make it 2-0 – his first career goal. The midfielder also provided the assist for Regan Poole to add a third moments later, and was later named Man of the Match by sponsors Papa John’s.

“I don't score often!” He joked. “It was my first goal and when it went in, I thought ‘What's going on?! What do I do?’.

“When I take set pieces, I know have to deliver, but I can't assist if there's no-one on the end of it, so it takes my ball and it took Regan to get up there, get a head on it and put it away.”

Sorensen added: “Every game you go out there wanting to do your best. I'm happy to be named man of the match, but everyone did well today.”
