MK Dons’ upcoming Sky Bet League One fixture with Rochdale has been postponed.
As confirmed in a statement by the EFL on Tuesday, Rochdale advised the EFL that they could not fulfil the fixture due to Covid-19 and the need for players and first-team staff to self-isolate.
MK Dons were due to visit the Crown Oil Arena this Saturday (2 January) for what would have been their first match of 2021.
The EFL said in a statement on Tuesday: “Rochdale’s next two Sky Bet League One fixtures have been suspended.
“The Club has advised the EFL it is unable to fulfil the fixtures due to Covid-19, with players and first-team staff required to self-isolate in line with EFL and Government guidance.
“As a result, the upcoming fixtures with Crewe Alexandra and Milton Keynes Dons scheduled to take place on Tuesday 29 December and Saturday 2 January respectively, have been suspended and the circumstances surrounding the postponements will now be the subject of an investigation in accordance with EFL Regulations.”
MK Dons will confirm a new date for the fixture in due course.
