Russell Martin expressed his joy this week after landing experienced international defender Richard Keogh – a player he described as is number one target.
The former Derby County man has tallied up over 500 professional appearances during his career and arrives at Stadium MK with a wealth of experience.
Martin added how important his knowledge will be, not just on the pitch, but off it as well.
“We've worked really hard on it for quite a while,” the Boss told iFollow MK Dons. “Once I knew he was available, I was desperate to bring him in. I know what he's like as a character, and I think he's exactly what need on and off the pitch.
“It's a really big statement of intent of where we want to go. He will add a huge amount to the culture of the club and he's desperate to be involved in football. Richard really sees the potential here and he really wants to be a part of it. that's so important – that someone wants to be here.
He has been my number one target in that position for a long time. He's desperate to get back, but we have to be patient with him. He's not a million miles away and once he's on the pitch, he will add a huge amount.”
