Defender George Williams grew up watching MK Dons before being signed by the Club as an Under-14. After being released at 18, his career came full circle when he re-joined the Club back in 2016.
The 26-year-old spoke of the pride he feels whenever he pulls on the shirt for his hometown club, and how much it means to him to wear the captain's armband.
“I’m really enjoying it, I’m loving my football and this is a great Club to play for,” Williams told the Red Dot Programme ahead of today’s Carabao Cup clash with Liverpool.
“It means a lot for me to captain the side when given the chance as an Academy Graduate. Being from Milton Keynes, it makes it a little bit more – it’s always a proud moment for me when I do so.
“I’m loving my football and this is a great Club to play for. We’ve got a great group of players and a great set of staff around us as well.
“I love it here, being from Milton Keynes and having come through the academy, it means a lot to put on the shirt.”
