mkdons.com details the storylines to follow heading into Saturday’s Sky Bet League One clash with AFC Wimbledon...

MK Dons looking to bounce back in the league
After returning to winning ways in midweek, MK Dons will be hoping to enjoy similar success in Sky Bet League One and pick up an important three points.

Paul Tisdale’s men beat Stevenage 3-0 in their Leasing.com Trophy clash at the Lamex Stadium, just three days after falling to their second successive league defeat at Accrington Stanley.

The Dons, who have won all three of their matches outside of league format this term, have six points to their name after their opening five matches and would love to take that total to nine at the weekend - a total that would likely see them climb back into the top half of the division.

Sam tops the scoring charts
Sam Nombe scored twice in Tuesday’s win at Stevenage to take his tally for the season to three, which has him top of the Dons’ scorer charts after the first nine games in all competitions.

He’s now ahead of Rhys Healey, Callum Brittain and Conor McGrandles, who all have two to their name - the latter scored his second of the campaign in the 3-0 win at the Lamex Stadium in midweek.

It’s been an impressive three games from the 20-year-old who will, no doubt, be giving manager Paul Tisdale some food for thought in terms of team selection for Saturday.

Dons remain a threat in front of goal
After finding the net three more times on Tuesday, Paul Tisdale’s MK Dons have now scored 15 goals in their opening eight matches. That’s their second best return at this stage for eight seasons.

The goals continue to be spread out across the pitch. It’s the strikers who lead the way with a combined seven goals but the midfield aren’t too far behind with five. The defence, meanwhile, have contributed three goals so far this term.

AFC Wimbledon after first win
AFC Wimbledon are still in search of their first win of the campaign but Wally Downes’ side do come into the match on the back of an impressive draw at home to Wycombe Wanderers last time out in the league.

The South-West London club have drawn two and lost four of their opening six matches while suffering defeats in the Carabao Cup - to MK Dons - and in the Leasing.com Trophy.

Sky Sports clash to kick-off at midday
Don’t forget that Saturday’s match kicks-off at the earlier time of 12 noon due to the Sky Sports cameras coming to town.

As a result of the earlier kick-off time, opening times will vary so stay tuned to mkdons.com for the Match Guide, which will have all the matchday information you need ahead of this weekend’s contest.

For those wishing to record the game or those not able to attend, the game will be on Sky Sports Football from 11.30am.
