Gilbey: We’re nearly there

Apologies, this video is unvailable.

Alex Gilbey believes MK Dons are a few tweaks away from being the team they want to be.

The Dons fell to a 2-1 defeat against Sunderland on Saturday afternoon, but the midfielder feels with some adjustments Tisdale’s side can put together a run of form.

“Maybe we’re a nearly team at the moment,” Gilbey told the local media following the full-time whistle at the Stadium of Light. “We’re doing a lot of good work, good build-up, then we nearly score or nearly have a chance. I think we have to stick with it, listen to the manager and we’ll be okay.

“We're not worried, or scared. We've got to keep pushing, and with the manager's guidance we will be a top team and looking up instead of down.

“There are positives to take. We aren't trying to think about losses because that puts pressure on us, but we have to keep performing like we have today, cut out those five minute periods and we will have a really good chance.”

Paul Tisdale and MK Dons now turn their attentions to the Trophy and Tuesday's visit of Fulham Under-21s to Stadium MK.

Tickets are priced at just £5 adults and £1 under-18s, with seating in the clubRed area of Stadium MK. Please note, there will be no clubRed benefits for this fixture.
