Dons working on finding their rhythm

MK Dons looking to go back-to-back in the league on Saturday...

Paul Tisdale believes his MK Dons side are edging closer to finding their rhythm.

The Dons currently have nine points to their name from their opening six games of the campaign – a total which has them sitting middle of the pack in 12th in Sky Bet League One.

They travel to Blackpool this weekend looking to make it back-to-back league wins for the first time this campaign, following last Saturday’s 2-1 win over AFC Wimbledon. Tisdale is confident they are close to putting a run together.

“We have certainly found our feet in terms of understanding the league but we haven’t found our rhythm yet,” Tisdale said in his pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Bloomfield Road.

“I’d like to be better. We know what we need to do to be better and how we need to go about that.

“Bearing in mind the games that we’ve had and that we’ve tried to keep players playing by rotating a little with so many games, I think we’ve done okay. We have won six games, although we’ve lost three in the league.

“I’d like to see us play with more rhythm and a better pattern. So far, it’s been okay but we’ve got some work to do.”

Saturday’s opponents Blackpool have made a strong start to the 2019/20 season, losing just one of their first seven matches and currently boasting an unbeaten home record.

Tisdale is respectful of the Tangerines and his opposite number.

“They have started really well,” he commented. “They have a manager who knows his stuff and they’ve got some really good players. It’s a really good League One fixture for us.”
