Midfielder on target in Blackpool win...

David Kasumu scored the third goal in MK Dons win over Blackpool, but the midfielder showed his maturity when he insisted three points was the most important takeaway from Bloomfield Road.

Entering Saturday’s clash, Simon Grayson’s side were unbeaten at home, and had only conceded twice in front of their own fans.

Goals from Russell Martin, Jordan Houghton, and Kasumu ensured Paul Tisdale’s side returned to Stadium MK with three points.

Kasumu says the Dons knew they were in for a difficult afternoon against Blackpool, but was happy with the way the squad managed the clash.

“We knew from the start that Blackpool were going to be a very tough side,” Kasumu told iFollow MK Dons. “From the off they pressed really high, when we scored that early goal, it helped us a lot - it was good to get two more goals and win the game though.

“When we are 1-0 up, they came out in the second half pushing for that equaliser. That second goal helped us a lot as we didn’t want to sit back for the rest of the game. Once we got the second goal - we knew we’d get another and see the game out.

“A 2-0 score line is always difficult, because if the other team get a goal it gives them the confidence to push on. When I scored the third it made it a lot easier, I’m happier to get the three points and we look ahead to Tuesday now.”

The 19-year-old midfielder is showing great maturity in the middle of the park, and noted just how much he’s enjoying his football.

“I’m enjoying my football at the moment, I’m learning a lot, I just want to keep working hard and learning from those around me. The senior players are always helping me - I just want to keep on playing well.”
