During pre-season, the MK Dons fans added a new song to their repertoire, as they serenaded Conor McGrandles throughout the off-season fixture with Hemel Hempstead.
The catchy chant soon caught on, with the Dons faithful applauding the 23-year-olds efforts both at Stadium MK and on the road.
Speaking to Red Dot ahead of tonight’s clash with Ipswich Town, McGrandles offered his gratitude to the fans for recognising this efforts.
“It’s really nice to have a song, because I’ve never had a chant before. It’s really weird hearing my name sung from the stands but I’m really grateful for it. I hope I can repay their support and get them singing it more.”
300 Dons fans made the near 400-mile roundtrip to Blackpool on Saturday, McGrandles also took the time to applaud the supporters for their continuous backing on the road following two away defeats at the start of the campaign.
“The fans have been really impressive and carried on from where they finished last season. We had two poor away performances prior to Blackpool but they still travelled in their numbers to support us.
“When games get tough, like it was at 1-0 on Saturday, they do really give you an extra lift and it pushes you through. The lads do talk about it as well. We’re really grateful that they do support us so well home and away.”
