Paul Tisdale emphasis with the pressure on his MK Dons players as they battle to reverse their recent form, and is backing them to do just that.
The Dons travel to the Memorial Stadium on Saturday looking to end a run of four straight Sky Bet League One defeats against Bristol Rovers.
Speaking ahead of the match, Tisdale recognised the emotions that his squad are dealing with and backed them to find a way to come through this current stretch.
“We have to look at the human nature of this,” Tisdale told the press. “The pressure of knowing we need to win and want to win, and the circumstances we’re in with players missing and the form.
“I am always very forgiving of the players in that respect, as long as I get what I consider to be 100 percent commitment and application to winning the game, which they always have done.
“I think they are trying too hard at times – it sounds odd but it can happen. I think we just have to take a deep breath and play a bit.
“Putting in an average performance would rarely be because of attitude or commitment, it’ll likely be because of some kind of lack of rhythm and, let’s be honest, we haven’t had a rhythm for a while.
“We just have to navigate our way through the next two or three months. This isn’t a case of just winning a game and getting back on track. We’re taking it one game at a time, and not lose faith in what we’re doing.
“We’ve got some good players who are worthy of playing in this league. I back them all and I want them all to do really well. The most important thing now is that we stick together and get through it.”
