Preview: FA Youth Cup First Round

29 October 2019

MK Dons Under-18s begin their FA Youth Cup campaign this evening as they play host to Ware FC.

Jon Goodman's side welcome The Blues to Stadium MK tonight looking to secure their fifth successive First Round triumph - the Young Dons have made it past the opening stage of the FA Youth Cup in seven of the last eight years.

The winner of this evening’s clash will face either Maidenhead or Kingstonian in the Second Round at home.

Kick-off is at 7.00pm.

It's been quite the journey for Ware, who have had to progress through four rounds to reach the first round proper. Their FA Youth Cup campaign started with a walkover win over Wodson Park FC in the Preliminary Round.

In the First Round of qualifying, they beat Grays Athletic 7-1, before a 1-0 win over Enfield Town in the Second Round.

The Hertfordshire outfit beat Needham Market FC in the Third Round of qualifying 4-1 to set up the tie with MK Dons.

Finn Brennan: “Everyone is buzzing for tonight’s game, it’s one of the highlights of our season. Ware are a good side, a few of the lads know some of their players so it’ll be a good game - hopefully, we get a decent crowd as well."

Boss Goodman has the majority of his Under-18s squad available for selection, with the only injuries to his team Jack Davies and Harry Riley.

Having made his debut for the first-team earlier this season, Finn Brennan is expected to captain the side.

Tickets for the tie are priced at just £5 adults and £1 under-18s. Seating will be unreserved in the West Wing.

To purchase tickets click HERE, visit the Box Office at Stadium MK or call 0333 200 5343. Tickets will be available to buy on the night, cash only at the turnstiles.
