Regan Poole has been promoted to the Wales senior squad for their upcoming UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers.
Poole, who was originally named in Wales’ Under-21s side, has been selected by Ryan Giggs to be a part of his team for the matches with Slovakia and Croatia, as a replacement for AFC Bournemouth defender Chris Mepham. It’s his first call-up to the Wales senior squad.
The MK Dons defender will link up with the likes of Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey and Dan James this Sunday to begin preparations for their two qualifiers.
Wales, who currently sit fourth in Group E, play Slovakia in Trnava on Thursday evening, kick-off 7.45pm BST. They then return to Cardiff on Sunday to take on group leaders Croatia, kick-off again at 7.45pm.
As a result of this selection, Poole will miss MK Dons’ Sky Bet League One fixture with Bristol Rovers.
