Regan Poole insists confidence remains high in the MK Dons dressing room, heading into Saturday’s Sky Bet League One encounter with Coventry City.
The Dons take on the Sky Blues this weekend without a win in their last five Sky Bet League One outings, but defender Poole says belief amongst the squad is still strong and the team is confident of soon turning their form around and climbing the table.
“We know what we have in this dressing room,” the 21-year-old said in his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s clash with Coventry City.
“We believe we can get out of it. Our win at Blackpool showed we can go against anyone in this league and get a result.
“Everyone goes through bad runs of form. It happened to the boys last season and they still got promoted.
“As soon as that first win comes, I hope we can take off and climb the table.”
Poole missed last Saturday’s defeat to Bristol Rovers while away on international duty with the Wales senior team for their Euro 2020 qualifiers against Slovakia and Croatia.
While honoured to be able to represent his country, the former Manchester United man is excited to be back at Stadium MK this Saturday.
“I was gutted to miss the game last week – the worst part of international football is missing your club games.
“It was a good experience. I enjoyed being around it all and we got two positive results which was good as well.
“I’m happy to be back now, though, and I’m looking forward to the game on Saturday. Hopefully we can return to winning ways.”
