David Kasumu says it means a lot to play for the Club he’s been with since the age of 13.

Kasumu, who progressed through the MK Dons Academy before signing professional terms in 2017, has established himself as a regular fixture in the midfield this term, already tallying 13 appearances.

In an interview with Red Dot, the 20-year-old spoke of his pride at representing his hometown club and how it was worth the wait to break into the first-team fold.

“It means a lot,” he said in the interview, which can be read in full in Saturday’s edition of Red Dot – MK Dons’ matchday programme.

“I signed here when I was 13 and I’ve been here ever since. I’m from Milton Keynes and I’ve got friends that play here as well. The Club means a lot to me.”

He added: “I’m grateful for the management for giving me the chance to prove myself, and to the MK Dons fans for their support.

“I owe Tis a lot for putting his faith in me, time and time again. He’s given me an opportunity to play and express myself. I can’t thank him enough.

“I knew what I had to do in order to earn my place in the team. I knew I needed to bring energy and improve certain areas of my game. I worked hard over the off-season and during pre-season on that.

“The lads in the dressing room have helped me a lot. They’ve given me positive feedback when I’ve needed it and constructive criticism as well. It’s all helped me gel in easier.”
