Jordan Moore-Taylor says it’s good to be back, after making his comeback in Tuesday’s Leasing.com Trophy victory over Fulham Under-21s.

Moore-Taylor played 45 minutes in the 1-0 win at Stadium MK – his first appearance since undergoing surgery on a knee injury sustained in January.

“It was really enjoyable being back out there,” the defender said in his interview with the media. “There has been a lot of hard work but it was good to be back.

“To tell you the truth, that's the most nervous I've been going into a game in my career. After the operation, you worry about it but it all went away during the warm-up. Once I got out there, it felt normal and like I’d never been away.

“The plan was to get through 45 minutes and see how I was. I got through it unscathed and I feel fine so it’s onwards and upwards now.”

He added: “Credit has to go to the medical team to push me as hard as they did to make sure I did alright.”

Tuesday was the first step towards full fitness for Moore-Taylor, who knows there is still a way to go before he is 100 percent and ready to play week in and week out.

“If it was down to me I would play straight away but I know there's a difference between running with the fitness coach and playing games.

“Positionally, my movements didn't feel the way they used to, but that's why you have pre-season. That's my first 45 minutes in nine months so I need to get the feel for it back. Hopefully, it's not far off.”
