Finn ‘buzzing’ for FA Youth Cup opener

29 October 2019

MK Dons Under-18s begin their FA Youth Cup campaign this evening, and Defender Finlay Brennan says the whole dressing room is buzzing for the clash with Ware FC.

The First Round of the FA Youth Cup is a game that stands long in the memory of any young professional and is a game everyone involved looks forward to with excitement.

This evening, MK Dons Under-18s welcome Ware FC to Stadium MK, a fixture that Brennan knows will be a difficult one for the Young Dons to overcome.

“Everyone is buzzing for tonight’s game, it’s one of the highlights of our season,” Brennan told iFollow MK Dons.  “Ware are a good side, a few of the lads know some of their players so it’ll be a good game - hopefully, we get a decent crowd as well.

One of the perks of the FA Youth Cup is that all games are played at the Club’s Stadium, meaning tonight’s clash will provide the opportunity for players to experience the Stadium MK turf.

With MK Dons facing Long Eaton United and Rochdale away from home last season, Brennan didn’t get the chance to play the FA Youth Cup at MK1 – something he’s excited to do this campaign.

“We played both of our games away from home last year, so to be able to play at the stadium will be great. It’ll be a real feeling of team spirit and that we are part of the Club – I can’t wait.

“It’ll be good to get away from league football and play in a different competition, the way we will approach it will be different, there’s a buzz about this game and we are all so excited to get playing in it.
