Russ: January recruitment process has started

Under six weeks until the transfer window re-opens for EFL clubs...

21 November 2019

Russell Martin says work has already begun in preparation for the January Transfer Window, with an eye on adding something ‘different’ to what he believes is an already talented MK Dons squad.

There are still six weeks until the transfer window re-opens and Martin will be able to add to his squad for the first time since being appointed as manager.

The Dons boss, though, is already working on identifying targets and hopes to be able to bolster his squad in the New Year.

“The process has definitely started,” Martin said in his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet League One clash with Rotherham United at Stadium MK.

"We have to [prepare for January],” Martin said in his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet League One clash with Rotherham United at Stadium MK.

“We know what we want and now we have to identify the right players and ones who will make a difference to us.

“We've got a lot of good players here but a lot have similar attributes, and therefore we need to get some players who offer something different.”
