MK Dons remember the fallen at Stadium MK

Stadium MK observes minute's silence in tribute to servicemen and women...

11 November 2019

MK Dons paid their respects on Remembrances Weekend with a minute’s silence prior to the Emirates FA Cup tie with Port Vale at Stadium MK.

Both sets of players walked out through a guard of honour from the Royal British Legion, while chairman Pete Winkelman joined Carol and Kevin Shananan from Port Vale in laying wreaths.

A minute's silence was then impeccably observed by all at Stadium MK, was preceded by the Last Post, played by David Wilson.

The Club would like to thank Dennis Chirkle, Kathy Smith, David Tomlinson, Arthur Pike, Jack Dawoson, Leslie Garman, Corporal Charles Hague, Kamile Macijauskaite, Noah Farrel and the Royal British Legion for contributing to the day.

MK Dons will host their annual Armed Forces Day at Stadium MK on Saturday 23 November, when Russell Martin's side take on Rotherham United.

Members of the armed forces, scout groups and veterans are entitled to TWO free tickets while there will be military-themed events both prior to the match and at half-time.
