Tranmere Rovers will join MK Dons in Sky Bet League One next season after their dramatic late Play-Off victory over Newport County at Wembley Stadium.
Tranmere, who saw off Forest Green Rovers in the semi finals, scored with two minutes left to play in extra-time to beat Newport County 1-0 and secure their place in the third tier of English football.
Nothing could separate the two sides after 90 minutes at Wembley, despite the Welsh outfit going down to 10 men late on. The final looked to be heading to penalties but Connor Jennings headed home a winning goal the 118th minute.
Tranmere Rovers will now join the Dons, Bury and Lincoln City in Sky Bet League One next term.
Paul Tisdale’s men now know 22 of their 23 opponents for the 2019/20 campaign, with the 23rd team to be determined this afternoon after the Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final between Charlton Athletic and Sunderland.
