Lee Nicholls has heaped praise upon Paul Tisdale and his coaching staff after MK Dons earned promotion back to Sky Bet League One at the first time of asking.
Tisdale, Matt Oakley and Mel Gwinnett arrived at Stadium MK on 6th June 2018 and were joined by Danny Butterfield a month later.
The quartet made an immediate impact at MK Dons as they guided the Club to a third-place finish, securing automatic promotion out of Sky Bet League Two in the process.
Nicholls, who was part of the Dons side that was relegated last campaign, has heaped praise upon the coaching staff for the work they’ve done behind-the-scenes to turn the Club’s fortunes around.
“I just want to say well done to all the lads and especially the manager and his staff,” Nicholls told mkdons.com immediately after the 1-0 win over Mansfield.
“The staff have come in, with a group of players that aren’t their players and they’ve not once made excuses. They’ve got on with it and given us all the same opportunities – I’m happy we can repay them.
“We’ve worked all season for this, everyone has put the graft in all season, it’s been tough for everyone.”
Nicholls concluded, “It was tough last year, it was horrible – I didn’t really like it. I’m made up we can put it right for the fans, because they’ve been on this journey with us as well.”
