Chuks' delight at Dons' success

Chuks Aneke was pleased to play a part in bringing success to MK Dons this season.

The striker, signed back in July 2016, endured tough times during his first two campaigns at Stadium MK - sidelined due to injuries in his first before suffering relegation in 2017/18.

However, Aneke and the Dons bounced back this term, with the 25-year-old netting 19 goals to help fire the team to promotion from Sky Bet League Two at the first time of asking.

“We’ve had some hard times here so it’s been good to experience some good times with the Club and to play a part in that,” Aneke told iFollow MK Dons.

“Yes, we got relegated last season but we have some good players here from that team. We bounced back.

“It’s been a good season and the result, at the end of it, is fantastic. We had a great start to the season and although we tailed off a little bit, we got what we wanted at the end of the day.

“On a personal level, I’ve had problems with injuries and this has been my first injury-free season for a very long time, which is pleasing. I’ve played lots of football and scored lots of goals and chipped in.”

Aneke also had a message for MK Dons supporters, praising their contribution in this season’s success.

“They’re always there, home or away, and their support helped a lot, especially when we were trying to dig in and get a result. Thank you.”
