Robbie Simpson insists he’s ready to offer support both on the pitch and behind-the-scenes to help MK Dons in the business end of the season.
Simpson has made over 350 professional appearances and feels his experience can only benefit the Dons during the final seven games of the campaign.
The 34-year-old noted the importance of providing a shoulder to lean on to either jeer up the squad or calm their nerves.
“I hope I can offer a lot of experience,” Simpson told the local media ahead of Saturday’s clash with Forest Green Rovers.
“I’m pretty experienced in my career and I’ve been fortunate enough that a lot of the seasons in my career have been at the top end of the table.
“The business end of the season is now and I hope that I can assess how the younger lads are feeling in the dressing room where the staff can’t.
“I’ll have little chats with them and help calm their nerves or get them into the zone if they’ve gone into their shell – that’s one of my roles in this squad.”
Simpson also added that he’ll be constantly pushing those in the starting XI during training to either take the starting sport or force them to up their game.
“I’ll be ready when called upon if you’re not starting you need to be pushing as much as you can in training to get back into the side or push the lads so they stay in the side. That’s the role of any player in the squad.”

MK Dons have sold out of their initial allocation for Saturday's clash with Forest Green Rovers. Tickets still can be purchased on the day at The New Lawn - with a £1 increase in price.
Tickets can only be purchased on the day of the game from The New Lawn available in covered and uncovered standing areas, with prices starting from £18 adults, £14 over-65s, £9 under-21s and £6 under-16s, while under-11s go FREE.
Official Away Travel is available for this fixture, priced at £16 Season Ticket holders and £17 all other supporters. Coaches will depart Stadium MK at 10.30am.
