Second-half turnaround showed Dons' spirit

Midfielder pleased to see fight in Dons performance...

Jordan Houghton says he was pleased to see MK Dons’ fighting spirit as they came from behind to pick up a point against Stevenage last Saturday.

Previously, the Dons have failed to take something from games they’ve fallen behind in at Stadium MK – most notably against Colchester United and Crewe Alexandra.

However, Saturday’s performance showed the resilience and spirit within the Dons squad – something Houghton was happy to see on display.

“Going 1-0 down is always tricky,” Houghton told the media following Saturday’s clash at Stadium MK. “I think we need to take the positives, in that we came from behind to earn something and finished the game strongly.

“I think we were unlucky not to win in the end – although we only had a handful of chances we put on some real pressure – it’s a little bit frustrating.

“Hopefully, we can look back at this point at the end of the season as an important draw.”

Houghton also noted that the Dons have stuck together through December’s sticky run of results, and feels the second-half performance against Stevenage showed that.

“We’re in a good run of form, we had a tricky period over Christmas but we’re through that now - you could see from that second-half performance just what we are about.

“We had a lot of energy and a lot more attacking intent. I thought we dealt with the game well and we finished strongly.”
