Russell Martin believes the players and the supporters are developing a strong connection which will benefit the team during the run-in.
Fans have watched on as MK Dons have secured four straight victories to move them to within two points of the automatic promotion places in Sky Bet League Two, and defender Martin hopes the connection that has developed between the pitch and the stands remains.
“I thought the fans were excellent [against Crawley Town] – it’s probably the best atmosphere since I’ve been here,” Martin said after the 1-0 victory over Crawley at Stadium MK.
“We seem to be growing a real togetherness and a connection with them. As the team keeps growing, so does the spirit. Hopefully, they continue backing us like they have done.
“Long may that continue because we’re going to need that between now and the end of the season where everyone digs in.”
