Robbie Simpson has played a part in two of MK Dons’ last three goals and the striker hopes to continue having a positive impact on the pitch.
It was from his parried shot that Kieran Agard looped home a second against Morecambe at the Globe Arena while he also provided the flick on for Alex Gilbey to set up Chuks Aneke’s equaliser against Stevenage last weekend.
Simpson, who followed those two performances up with a brace in the week for the Under-23s, wants to continue contributing to the Dons’ push for success.
“I feel I’ve done okay,” he said, humbly, in an interview with iFollow MK Dons after last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Stadium MK.
“I’ve done what the manager has asked me to do when I’ve got onto the pitch. I’ve put myself about and made the ball stay in their half so we can build some pressure, because in this league pressure creates goals.
“Fortunately enough, when I’ve come on we’ve scored some – hopefully that continues.”
Paul Tisdale also commented on Simpson’s displays off the bench last Saturday, telling the media: “Robbie provides us with a certain skill set in certain situations.
“He’s a very reliable member of the team and he’s always ready to go. He’s a very forceful character and player, and the players are always pleased when he played.”
Robbie Simpson and MK Dons welcome Yeovil Town to Stadium MK on Saturday when they will be looking to secure a valuable three points.
