Loan Watch: Brandon and Jay play vital roles in weekend wins

Find out how MK Dons’ loanees got on this weekend…

25 March 2019

Three of MK Dons loanees were in action for their respective loan sides in the latest round of league fixtures.

It was a weekend to remember for Brandon Thomas-Asante who was voted Man of the Match during Oxford City’s 4-1 win over Dulwich Hamlet FC.

Thomas-Asante opened the scoring just 12-minutes into the encounter, as he found the far corner with his effort from just inside the box.

The 20-year-old would then see his shot hit the arm of a Dulwich Hamlet defender with five minutes left in the first-half.

Former Dons forward Kabongo Tshimanga scored the penalty.

At Hitchin Town, Jay Bird was handed a start for The Canaries clash with Bedworth United.

Bird was bright throughout and was unlucky not to open the scoring half-an-hour into the game when his shot from the edge of the box cannoned off the crossbar.

After a goalmouth scramble, Harry Draper turned home to give Hitchin an early advantage.

The youngster would also play an important role in Hitchin’s third of the afternoon. After some good work on the wing, Bird found Draper, who turned provider as Isaac Galliford converted.

Elsewhere, Charlie Pattison played the final 19-minutes for Welwyn Garden as they lost 4-1 to Cambridge City.

Both Sam Nombe and Oran Jackson were not in action.
