Ladies to face West Brom in FA WNL Plate Final

28 March 2019

MK Dons Ladies will face off against West Bromwich Albion Women in the FAWNL Plate Final with the clash taking place at Butlin Road home of Rugby Town FC.

Milton Keynes Dons have enjoyed a successful debut season in Women’s National League Southern Premier Division in 2018/19, having been promoted from the tier below last season.

The Dons all-but-secured their FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division status courtesy of a 3-2 win over Queens Park Rangers at Stadium MK.

The Dons, therefore, just need a point from their remaining five matches to secure safety for definite, although their far superior goal difference means they may not even need that - they have a +22 difference over QPR.

West Bromwich Albion have also been enjoying a rosy 2018/19, with a 100% record in the league seeing them bounce back from relegation last season to lead the title chase in the FA WNL Division 1 Midlands.

FA Women’s National League Chairman Carol West said: “We’re delighted to be heading to Rugby Town FC for this exciting final.

"The Plate Final sees two closely matched teams meet in what should be a great game.”

Rugby Town FC Director Neil Melvin added: “All at Rugby Town are very pleased to be hosting these two FA Women’s National League finals.

“We were delighted to be asked to stage the event at Butlin Road and everyone at the club is really looking forward to the day.

“I am sure that our own supporters as well as the wider community in Rugby will be keen to support the event and we look forward to seeing everyone on the day.”

The ground opens 15:00pm for the Plate Final.

Tickets are priced at £5 adults (which includes a match programme), £2.50 for concessions and £1 for children (under-3s are free).
