Paul Tisdale provided an early injury update on David Wheeler and Baily Cargill, who were both forced off with injuries during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Stevenage.
Wheeler suffered a nasty facial injury midway through the first half following a body block from Boro defender Ben Nugent while Cargill headed down the tunnel on a stretcher with what appeared to be a lower leg problem.
“Baily [Cargill] was an injury. I didn’t see it but I know he went up to head the ball, fell down and didn’t get up again. We will have to assess that one but it just seems to be our luck at the moment.
“I’m not sure where [David Wheeler’s] teeth have finished up. It was a nasty, nasty body block and it’s resulted in his teeth being damaged - it’s not a nice one for him.”
He continued: “It was a very physical game, which we were expecting. Everyone is entitled to play in the way in which they want to play, as long as it’s within the rules of the game.
“We’ve had players take bumps and bruises today, as have they. We can expect that at this stage of the season, when stakes are high and teams are putting themselves about. It’s tough.”
Tisdale also confirmed that Mathieu Baudry’s withdrawal at half-time was a tactical substitution and that the defender did not sustain an injury.
