Poole hoping to help Dons push on

Defender excited to get going at Stadium MK...

Recent recruit Regan Poole is looking to help MK Dons build on their success of last season, following his move to Stadium MK from Manchester United.

The versatile defender joined Paul Tisdale’s squad earlier this month, becoming the Club’s fifth summer signing as they prepare for life back in Sky Bet League One.

Poole will also be making the step up back to the third tier, having played in the division with Northampton Town in 2018 before spending last season on loan in Sky Bet League Two with Newport County, and the Cardiff-born 21-year-old is raring to get going.

“I’m excited and I can’t wait to get started,” he told iFollow MK Dons. “This is a new stage of my career, and it’s time to settle down, play some football and help this Club be successful.

“It seems like a really good bunch here - a tight-knit group. I know the bulk of the squad is staying together so hopefully we can kick on and enjoy more success.”

Poole joins the Dons from Manchester United, where he spent the past three-and-a-half years.

Despite only making one senior appearance for the Red Devils, the Wales Under-21 captain believes he has benefited from his time at Old Trafford.

“I was at Manchester United for three and a half years and it was an amazing experience playing for them - I loved every minute of it. I can’t thank them enough for what they did for me - they improved me as a person and as a player.

“It was a pleasure but now it’s time to kick on with my career and get started with MK Dons.”
