Walsh: A chance to put things right

Walsh looking for three points this Saturday…

18 January 2019

Defender Joe Walsh returned to action against Bury last Saturday but came away from the defeat feeling frustrated.

Having returned from injury ahead of schedule, the Welshman was put straight back into the Starting XI, but ultimately, came away from Gigg Lane with the sense of disappointment.

The Defender, who caught up with the media earlier this week, stated Saturday’s game in a chance to ‘put things right.’

“It was gutting to lose the Bury game in the way we did. The game was 100mph from the start - that wasn’t the best from me returning from injury.

“It was frustrating to throw the game away, but we’ve got a chance to put things right this Saturday.”

“Keeping clean sheets is a collective effort - we work on defending from the front in training - everyone plays a part if we keep a clean sheet.”

Earlier this week, Paul Tisdale added defender Russell Martin to his defensive ranks – a signing that Joe Walsh has welcomed.

“Competition for places is always good, we’ve had defenders join before and it always makes us up our game.”
