Tis confident in his crop to get back on track

MK Dons manager reflects on his side's 1-0 defeat to Crewe Alexandra...

21 January 2019

Paul Tisdale is confident that his MK Dons side can pull themselves out of their ‘bad patch’.

The Dons were beaten 1-0 by Crewe Alexandra on Saturday, meaning they have now won just one of their last six matches - form which has seen them slip to fifth in the Sky Bet League Two table.

While acknowledging his concern at the recent run of results, Tisdale, re-iterated his belief in the players to get back on track and climb the table.

“We've had a bad patch and we need to get out of it,” Tisdale said in his post-match press conference on Saturday.

“I'm concerned [with the form] but I've been here before and I know what we need to do - I'm sure we're capable of it. I fully believe we're good enough to do that.”

On the 1-0 defeat itself, Tisdale said: “We've lost points here and that is frustrating.

"We were below our best but we still have to win those games. It helps if you take your chances which, of course, we didn't do.

“I think we were trying too hard in the first half, trying to do everything so soon - we lacked patience. As the game went on, it became a bit bitty and we lost our rhythm.

“There are one or two things, of course, we need to improve on. We now have to show a bit of resolve and move on to the next one.”
