Ladies hand Charlie Bill and Owen Evans joint-manager job

18 January 2019

MK Dons Ladies have announced the appointment of Charlie Bill and Owen Evans as their new joint managers.

The duo, succeed James Honeyman, who recently left the post to take up a role at The FA, will take charge with immediate effect.

Both men have been involved with MK Dons Sport and Education Trust for several years and will bring valuable experience to the position.

Charlie has worked in the SET for over 7 years across many of the departments. Over the past 2 years, he has been a big driving force with the MK Dons Regional Talent Club, assisting with the Under 14s.

As of August, last year Charlie also took on the role of Centre Manager, this will now allow him to monitor players development from youth up to the first team.

Bill said, “This is a fantastic challenge which I’m really looking forward to. Assisting with the Ladies first team for the past two years and being part of the journey so far - I felt this was the next step for me.

"James has done an unbelievable job moving the ladies forward in a real positive direction. Owen and I are motivated to keep the ladies moving in the right direction - we cannot wait to start.”

Owen has worked within the SET for over 10 years, and like Charlie has worked across many different departments, both in the women’s and men’s game at youth and adult level. Owen will be stepping up from his role as manager of the MK Dons Ladies Development side where he has seen players move from the Regional Talent Club through the Development Side and into the First Team.

Owen also leads on the Boys Advanced programme and this experience will allow him to use good practice from the boys & men’s game within the Women’s setup.

Evans added, “Firstly, I would like to wish James all the best and thank him for all the fantastic support he has given me over the last few seasons and the opportunity within the ladies setup managing the Development squad.

"Taking over from James is a tough challenge, due to his recent success, but one I am relishing. This challenge is the next step in my pathway after managing the Development side which has been a fantastic experience. The Ladies have gone from strength to strength under James’ guidance and we are looking forward to continuing this, starting with a strong end to the season.”
