Dons hoping Sow will repeat Shakers success

Striker returns to ground where he scored his second MK Dons goal...

9 January 2019

Osman Sow was on the scoresheet when MK Dons last visited The Energy Check Stadium at Gigg Lane and while all will be hoping for a repeat of that success, the striker is only focusing on the present and the task at hand this weekend.

Sow opened the scoring during the Dons’ 2-0 victory over Bury in September 2016, racing onto a through ball from Scott Golbourne and sliding a low left-footed shot past Shakers keeper Joe Murphy.

While a positive memory for the Swede, Sow isn’t in the mood for looking back and will only be happy if the team can handle their business in a similar fashion this Saturday.

“It’s positive but that’s in the past and I’m focused on today,” he told iFollow MK Dons ahead of this weekend’s trip to Greater Manchester.

“Our full focus is on Bury on Saturday. We are confident and we’ll be looking to go there and handle business.”

Sow was back amongst the goals last time out, scoring the Dons’ sixth goal in their dominant 6-0 victory over Cambridge United at Stadium MK.

The 28-year-old impressed in his third game back from injury and hopes to continue helping the team for the remainder of the campaign.

“I was happy to be back involved and playing with the boys," he said. "I enjoyed running out on the pitch here at Stadium MK.

“I’m taking one day at a time, trying to improve my sharpness, but I’m feeling good and that’s a massive thanks to the backroom staff.

“I really enjoyed playing in the last game. I’m enjoying the moment and trying to help the team as much as I can to get points.”
