Paul Tisdale insists places are up for grabs in his MK Dons side following their recent run of results.
The Dons’ recent form has seen them slip to sixth in the table, four points adrift of the automatic promotion spots.
As a result, Tisdale has issued a warning to his squad that nobody's place in the team is secure and has called on the players to earn their starts.
“We're on a run at the moment that has not cemented anyone in the side,” he said in his pre-match press conference. “The team has lost its rhythm and there are very few who are cemented in this team.
“It's an old cliché, but there are places up for grabs. If we win a few games, it may settle things down a bit, but at the moment there are opportunities for everyone.”
Two players who will be looking to work their way into the starting XI are Deadline Day signings Jake Hesketh and Stephen Walker, who both impressed off the bench in their debut outing at Exeter City last weekend.
“They've both shown signs of promise,” Tisdale commented. “Jake fits our style and Stephen is young, raw and full of talent, which we hope we can show sooner or later.
“Both players will get an opportunity and earn another.”
