Alex Gilbey has been named MK Dons’ Royal Cabs Player of the Month for January while Dean Lewington has claimed the MKFM Goal of the Month award.
During a difficult month in terms of results, Gilbey’s industrious displays in the centre of midfield saw him voted the supporters’ standout player. He received 47% of the vote ahead of Dean Lewington (16%), who finished second in the polling.
Lewington still picked up an award, though, as his free-kick against Bury was voted the best strike of January by the MK Dons fans. The skipper’s excellent finish was the clear winner, receiving 56% of the votes.
Both players were presented with their awards on Saturday ahead of the Sky Bet League Two clash with Swindon Town at Stadium MK. They were joined in the presentations by supporters Bob Finn and Gayle Shotton.
