Gilbey: Oldham win was for the fans

1 February 2019

MK Dons concluded the month of January with an important 2-1 win over Oldham Athletic – a victory that Alex Gilbey has dedicated to the Dons faithful.

Goals from Chuks Aneke and Kieran Agard either side of half-time ensured Paul Tisdale’s side picked up all three points.

Gilbey stated the importance and the manner in which the victory came.

“The win over Oldham was good for the fans,” the midfielder told iFollow MK Dons on Tuesday evening.

“it was a cold night and the fans came out and supported us throughout. It was an important win for everyone involved in the football club and it was just what we needed.

“We’ve had a tough run and haven’t been at our best, although we weren’t great tonight, we’ve got the three points – now we can steady the ship and go again.

“If you look back at our games we’ve given away leads. It was important to hold on - it was a big three points.”
