The 28-year-old composed himself in front of goal to beat Ben Wilson and double the Dons advantage on the night.
Having scored his first MK Dons goal the week prior against Rotherham United, Mason says he’s feeling confident and enjoying playing for Russell Martin.
“My confidence is high now,” the forward told the local media after Tuesday’s cup win. “I'm going into every game thinking I can score so if I'm picked Saturday, hopefully, I can do the same again.
“You can see, tactically, it's different to how it was a few months ago. I think we're creating a lot of chances, but we could shut the door a bit more at the other end and not give away as many chances, but going forward we're looking a lot better.
“I'm happy for the manager and the staff too. The training has been really enjoyable, so it was good to pay him back with a win.”
