Tis: Home form will be vital

Manager hoping to get off to a good start at Stadium MK this Saturday...

Paul Tisdale believes the home form will be vital for MK Dons as they prepare to make their Sky Bet League One return this weekend.

Tisdale, who led the Dons to promotion from Sky Bet League Two in his first year with the Club, was due to lead his side out at Bury last weekend but the EFL took the decision to suspend the fixture due to the Shakers’ off-the-field problems.

The Dons, therefore, begin this Saturday against Shrewsbury Town at Stadium MK and speaking exclusively to Red Dot, Tisdale hopes to get underway on a positive note in front of the home supporters.

“A vital part of any campaign is that you are productive at home,” he told Red Dot, the Club’s matchday programme which will be available to buy on Saturday for a price of £3.

“We won 14 games here last season and it would be nice to emulate, or even improve on that and give ourselves a chance to get a good foothold in League One.”

Supporters have been working to improve the matchday atmosphere at Stadium MK ahead of the 2019/20 season and Tisdale is happy to welcome any ideas that can provide his side with home-field advantage.

“Every little bit helps and can make a difference,” he commented. “You certainly want a positive, vocal and encouraging home support.

“If the fans can generate even more encouragement than they did last year then I will be delighted about that.”

You can read the full interview with manager Paul Tisdale in Saturday’s edition of Red Dot, which will be available from sellers around Stadium MK and the Box Office at a price of £3. The MK Dons boss talks about his summer, the summer’s transfer activity and his aims for the 2019/20 campaign.
