Dons make perfect start to 2019/20 campaign...

19 August 2019

MK Dons Women began their 2019/20 campaign with a convincing win away at Chichester City.

Dominka Netschova’s (pictured) brace and an early Rebbeca McShane goal powered the Dons to an opening-day success in West Sussex, despite them losing Shauna Munnelly to a red card late in the contest.

MK Dons made the ideal start, taking the lead just a quarter of an hour in courtesy of McShane, who found the net from the left side of the penalty area.

The Dons then doubled their advantage through Netschova, who won possession deep in Chichester territory before sending a lob over the goalkeeper from the edge of the area.

Chichester had an opportunity to reduce the deficit from the penalty spot early in the second half but they were denied by an excellent save from Emma Kirby.

The Dons then made sure of the points with a well-worked third goal - Netschova grabbing her second of the afternoon with a far post finish following a superb attacking move down the left.

The only dampener on an otherwise perfect start to the season was a red card to left back Munnelly, who was dismissed after picking up her second bookable offence.

Starting XI: Kirby, Munnelly, Neal, Bright, Littlechild, Kinnane, Gough (Driscoll), Naylor, Lemon (Farrow), Netschova, McShane (Chiarizia).

Unused subs: Gough, Payne.
