Loan Watch: Walker saves penalty in Hampton and Richmond debut

5 August 2019

While MK Dons weren’t in action this past Saturday, keeper Laurie Walker made his debut for loan Club Hampton and Richmond Borough.

The Beavers travelled to Chelmsford City FC and were behind just two minutes into the game as Tom Jelley’s attempted clearance snuck into his own net. Tom Wraight then added a second for the hosts before half-time.

With 55-minutes on the clock, Chelmsford City were awarded a penalty. Walker, though, stood firm to deny Sam Higgins from the spot.

Wright added a third, but Hampton were handed a lifeline in the clash as Tyrone Lewthwaite reduced the deficit with just under half an hour left to play.

With The Beavers pushing for a second, Chelmsford caught them on the counter as Andy Fennell added the fourth of the afternoon for City.

Walker is next in action against Havant & Waterlooville this coming Tuesday.
