Hiram excited to showcase abilities

8 August 2019

Eight new faces arrived at MK Dons during the Summer Transfer Window, the first of which was Hiram Boateng.

The midfielder progressed through the youth ranks at Crystal Palace before making his professional debut for the Eagles in 2013. He also enjoyed loan spells with Crawley Town, Plymouth Argyle, Bristol Rovers and Northampton Town.

Boateng made Exeter City his permanent home in August 2017 and went on to play 77 times for the Grecians before committing his future to the Dons in May and told iFollow MK Dons he can’t wait to get going.

“I’m excited to lay down a marker, get started and show the fans what I can do,” he told iFollow MK Dons ahead of this afternoon’s Sky Bet League One opener with Shrewsbury Town, where he could make his debut.

“Unfortunately our game against Bury got called off, but I think all the lads are in the same boat as we are all raring to go.

“There is a really good set-up here - the way the club is, it’s very close-knit. Everyone is always looking out for one another to see how you are doing and how you are settling in.”

The Dons were due to begin their 2019/20 campaign last weekend but the EFL’s decision to suspend the fixture with Bury means their Sky Bet League One campaign will get underway this Saturday.

Boateng noted he’s excited to step out onto the Stadium MK turf for the first time as a Dons player and added he can’t wait to develop his relationship with the fans.

“I’m excited to come start my journey here, get playing in this stadium and perform for the club.

“I think the fans are going to be important for us this season. The more games they can come support us – it’ll only benefit us as a team.

“We met the supporters last week at the squad presentation evening, it was good to get to know the fans and have some general conversation with them.

“That’s a relationship that I look forward to developing as my time goes on here. Hopefully, we can get ourselves in a good position during the season to continue receiving their great support.”
