Paul Tisdale has praised his striking duo of Jordan Bowery and Kieran Agard for their contributions over the past four matches.

The pair have started all four games at the start of this season and have played a part in the three victories which MK Dons have collected so far. Their performances have certainly caught the eye of manager Paul Tisdale.

“They have had large parts to play and that does not go unnoticed,” Tisdale said in his pre-match press conference on Thursday ahead of the Sky Bet League One clash with Peterborough United.

“While they did not score [on Tuesday], Kieran Agard put a wonderful ball in for Callum [Brittain] and it was Jordan Bowery's shot which ricocheted off George [Williams].

“At Wycombe last week, while Baily [Cargill] picked out Jordan to score, Kieran ran across the front post to make the space, and he won the penalty for the second.

"Don't fall into the trap of just looking at who scores the goals, it’s about the team that creates them.”

Tisdale added on Agard: “We worked very hard to keep him here and we're delighted to have him. His worth is so much more than just the goals.

“We want him to be a goal-scorer too, of course, but he adds so much to the team, generally, that he's a very big part for us.”

Another player who has caught the eye early on this season is Callum Brittain, who opened the scoring in the 2-1 win over Lincoln City and was voted as Man of the Match by the supporters on Twitter.

“He's in a good place,” Tisdale said of his young defender. “There's a robust and physical resilience you need to play game after game, not for an hour but for 90 minutes, and from last season to now, there has been a big improvement in that aspect.

“He is now becoming fit for purpose, physically, and off the back of that, he has gained confidence. His game is particularly strong at the moment.

“He's a young player, so be prepared for a dip of form, but for the time being he's playing well, working hard and if he scored the odd goal like he did on Tuesday he's going to be ready for more progress in his career.”
