Dons looking to glean goals from all over

Goals have been shared so far this term...

21 August 2019

Paul Tisdale has tasked his MK Dons players from all areas of the pitch with getting on the scoresheet this season.

The Dons have found the net seven times this campaign, twice from strikers, three times from midfielders and, after Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Lincoln City, two have come courtesy of defenders.

“We are trying to develop the team and a part of that is that we have to glean goals from all over the field,” Tisdale said in his post-match press conference after Tuesday’s victory over the Imps.

“We asked both wing backs to do their bit. It's not just the forwards, but they have that licence to get forward.”

That said, Tisdale didn’t even realise until later that one of his full-backs had got on the scoresheet on Tuesday.

“I didn't even realise [George Williams] had scored! I thought it was Jordan Bowery!

“In fairness, he got on the end of the cross initially, so he did his job.”
