Bury supporter travel compensation

Club to submit claims on a collective basis to the EFL...

31 August 2019

MK Dons is aware that a small number of supporters who had booked either hotels or train travel for the suspended Sky Bet League One fixture at Bury on Saturday 3 August have been unable to secure refunds from the hotel or travel companies due to booking terms and conditions.

Whilst there can be no guarantee of compensation, especially now that Bury have had their membership share withdrawn by the EFL, the Club will do its best to help those supporters affected by submitting claims on a collective basis to the EFL for their consideration.

Any supporter who was unable to use their travel tickets or hotel booking, has not been able to secure a refund and would like the Club to submit a claim to the EFL, should do the following:

Visit the Box Office at Stadium MK before close of play on Tuesday 17 September 2019, with supporting documentation as follows:

  1. A letter addressed to the Club stating the purpose of the purchase (i.e. travel to Bury v MK Dons on 3 August 2019) and the total amount of the claim. The letter should include the full name and address of the supporter.
  2. A copy of any relevant supporting correspondence sent to the travel or booking company requesting a refund.
  3. Any copies of correspondence received from the travel or booking company declining any such request for a refund.
  4. Train tickets, hotel booking confirmation, coach tickets as appropriate. These will be required before we can support any request to the EFL.

The Club regrets that we will be unable to support a claim where tickets or hotels were able to be used for other purposes.

The Club will validate each claim received and collate all appropriate requests for compensation to the EFL for their consideration.
