Tis praises Manager of the Month Mellon

MK Dons boss misses out on March honour...

12 April 2019

Paul Tisdale has missed out on the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month Award, with the honour going to the man in charge of MK Dons’ opponents this weekend - Micky Mellon.

Mellon and Tranmere Rovers enjoyed a 100 percent record in March, winning all five of their matches last month, scoring 11 goals and conceding just twice.

Tisdale, speaking ahead of his side’s visit to Mellon’s Rovers this weekend, felt the Rovers boss was the deserved winner of the award.

“They’ve had a fantastic two months,” Tisdale said in his pre-match press conference. “They’ve had an incredible run of results and performances. He thoroughly deserves it.

“It’s nice to have been nominated, of course. It shows we’ve had a good run of form.

“For both managers it will now be about the game and result on Saturday but well done to Micky - his team has done really well.”

Tisdale and Mellon were nominated alongside John Askey (Port Vale) and Danny Cowley (Lincoln City) for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month Award. It was Tisdale’s fourth nominated of the campaign.

The Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month Award went to Forest Green Rovers midfielder Reece Brown, who fended off competition from Neal Eardley (Lincoln City), James Norwood (Tranmere Rovers) and Kaiyne Woolery (Swindon Town).
