Tis' Dons excited for Tranmere test

MK Dons take on fifth-placed Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park today...

12 April 2019

Paul Tisdale recognises the importance of this afternoon’s meeting with Tranmere Rovers and insists his players are excited by the prospect of rising to the challenge.

Tisdale’s men take on Rovers at Prenton Park later today knowing a win will send them seven points clear of their promotion rivals in the Sky Bet League Two table. If results go their way elsewhere, they could also climb back into second place.

“There is no point hiding it - it’s a big game,” Tisdale said in his pre-match press conference on Thursday.

“The next game is always the biggest game but looking at the league table and where we are with each other, there is always that added element where you’re looking to take points of the opposition and gain your own points.

“It’s a big game but that won’t affect how we set up for it. It won’t affect how hard we try. We’re just looking forward to it.

“Its business end of the year, the players are in really good spirits. The group has worked well together all year. It’s really good fun, it’s exciting and it’s about doing everything we can to get the results. It’s all about those points.”
